Easing of restriction measures adopted due to COVID-19. announced

During a Press Conference held on Thursday 6th May 2021 https://fb.watch/5kI_b9XXMp/, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne and Superintendent of Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci announced the easing of restriction measures adopted due to COVID-19.

 As of Monday 24th May, these measures will be eased:

• Restaurants and snack bars can remain open till midnight
• Pools can open till 20:00hrs
• Gym and day centres can re-open
• Contact sports will be allowed for youths aged 17 years and over

As of Tuesday 1st June, these measures will be eased:
• Seated weddings according to already announced protocols can be held
• Language schools can re-open
• The use of masks at the beach will not be obligatory by law

As of Monday 7th June, these measures will be eased:
• Restaurants and snack bars can accommodate to 6 persons per table
• Bars, band clubs, cinemas, theatres, betting and gaming outlets can re-open
• Contact sports will continue to be allowed for youths over 17 years of age
• Team sports can resume without spectators
