The Malta Employers’ Association (MEA) elected Mr Ivan Refalo as its President and succeeds Ms Joanne Bondin who served a maximum of two, 2-Year terms.
In a brief address, the incoming President thanked his fellow Council members for their confidence and trust. He expressed gratitude towards his predecessor, Joanne Bondin and said that he would take guidance and inspiration from her leadership as he will now continue to steer the Association along its mission to uphold the interests of responsible employers and shaping social dialogue to drive policies that balance economic growth with responsible business practices.
Mr Refalo is a long-serving Council Member of Malta Employers and served as Deputy President and Manufacturing Industry Sector Group Representative under Ms Bondin’s Presidency. His business experience spans over 35 years with work experience in the manufacturing sector, hospitality, aviation and services industries, covering Quality, Operations and Human Resource Management and Development. He is a Henley MBA graduate and a former President of the Foundation for Human Resource Development president from (2013-2015). In his profession as an HR Practitioner, he currently leads the HR Department at Seifert Systems Ltd – a German-owned manufacturing company engaged in the provision of cooling units, heat exchangers and chillers for clients worldwide.
During its first Council meeting following its 60th AGM, Malta Employers also elected the following positions:

Muscat (Officer); and Noel Scerri (Officer).
