The Department of Industrial and Employment Relations is the regulator ensuring that wages and employment conditions are being observed and that there are no abuses.
The Department needs to grant permission to those
companies who, for some reason or other, cannot maintain the wage and normal conditions of their workers.
Two helplines have been launched in order to obtain information about work conditions, quarantine leave, payment rates, reduced work hours, unpaid leave, forced leave, and collective redundancies.
